Who is behind the Hancock County Food Drive...
THE HANCOCK COUNTY FOOD SECURITY NETWORK
The Hancock County Food Security Network engages a broad group of stakeholders that work to address food insecurity in Hancock County, Maine. Its purpose is to share resources, creatively solve problems, and organize advocacy efforts among the food pantries and community meal sites across our region.

HISTORY
The HCFSN was formed in 2004 and co-convened by Healthy Acadia and University of Maine Cooperative Extension for many years. Today, Healthy Acadia continues to convene and support the Network by organizing quarterly meetings, leading the Hancock County Food Drive, and providing resources to local food security organizations and the communities they serve.
OUR WORK
The Hancock County Food Security Network (HCFSN) is a forum where organizations come together to work on common issues, organize advocacy efforts, share resources, and receive professional training around food security initiatives. One of the Network's crowning achievements is the annual month-long, county-wide Food Drive that supports food security organizations across the county. HCFSN members include representatives from food pantries, free community meal sites, school backpack programs, food banks, hospitals, social service agencies, and more.
