Our Work

The Hancock County Food Security Network (HCFSN) is a forum where organizations come together together to work on common issues, organize advocacy efforts, share resources and receive professional training.  One of the Network's crowning achievements is the annual month-long, county-wide Food Drive that supports food security organizations across the county. HCFSN members include representatives from food pantries, free community meal sites, school backpack programs, food banks, hospitals, social service agencies, and more.

history

The HCFSN was formed in 2004 and co-convened by Healthy Acadia and University of Maine Cooperative Extension for many years. Today, Healthy Acadia continues to convene and support the Network by organizing quarterly meetings, leading the Hancock County Food Drive, and providing resources to local food security organizations and the communities they serve.
