Darling’s Chevrolet, located in Ellsworth along Route 1, has been a continued supporter of food security work over the years. Recently they have supported the Downeast Gleaning Initiative in procuring an additional gleaning van. The Gleaning Initiative works to redirect local, nutritious food from farms and gardens that would otherwise go to waste to food security organizations in our county, and the van enables Healthy Acadia to safely and efficiently transport the delicious food to those that need it. To further their involvement in food security work in the region, Darling’s is donating to the Hancock County Food Drive! They are proud sponsors of many community organizations in the region, and regularly work to address community needs in partnership with nonprofits. Darling’s is communicative, generous, and involved. Their donation to the Hancock County Food Drive this year will have a great impact on food security in Hancock County.
